Developed Ideas
Task to complete:
Select 1 or 2 initial ideas. Justify why you have selected these ideas over the others. You are now going to develop these ideas from an initial thought, into a product where you have finalised its form, how it functions and how it could be manufactured. You may find the ideas eventually merge into one.
Teacher Instruction:
Watch the following tutorial where you will be talked through what you need to do
Checkpoints:
-
Develop a minimum of 2 ideas
-
Justify your selections over the other initial ideas
-
When developing you must address:
-
Different proportions
-
Different material combinations
-
Technologies and methods of production
-
How the user interacts with the product
-
Function
-
How does it meet the specification
GAP Attainment:
Use the following table to understand what potential grade of work you will produce. Try to aim for the top grade!
GREEN- Grades D-E
You will have selected the main areas for development and worked out how to get them to function as intended. You will have designed an idea that will probably work. You will have evaluated the process in one overall statement rather than as an ongoing process.
AMBER- Grades B-C
You will have selected for development most of the relevant aspects and worked out how to get them to function as intended. You will have designed a fully working idea. You will have evaluated each step in detail.
